W.E.J. Paradice PhD

Dr Paradice was appointed to the Committee in 2006 by the NSW Minister for Natural Resources, The Hon Ian MacDonald.

Dr Paradice is the inaugural Chair of the Hunter Central-Rivers Catchment Management Authority after serving a number of years as a Trustee of the Hunter Catchment Management Trust.

The CMA plays a vital role in managing a unique and diverse 37 000 square kilometres of the east coast of NSW—from Taree in the north, to Gosford and the coastal lakes of the Central Coast in the south, and from Newcastle in the east to the Merriwa Plateau and Great Dividing Range in the west.

Dr Paradice received his undergraduate degree from the University of New England in Armidale, his Master of Science from Colorado State University and his PhD from the University of Idaho. At the University of New England he was a member of the first graduating class from the School of Natural Resources. His postgraduate education in the US was also based in natural resource programs. He presently serves on a wide range of natural resource management committees at a regional and State level.

Dr Paradice is also the CEO of The Hunter Valley Research Foundation.
